The destructive message delivered by this type of comment is utterly unambiguous: the average 30 year old is vastly more incompetent and stupid than the average 12 year old. It's obvious hyperbole, you might say, but the fact that such hyperbole is increasingly common and unconsciously accepted means that it exerts and eroding effect. As one tiny droplet of water dropped millions of times will wear through even the most solid rock, so such comments erode the rights of older citizens.
